Hi! Today I’m showing you the result of one of my late night online shopping sessions. This time I was looking at some Topshop dresses. I wanted to fill my basket up with enough items, so I wouldn’t have to pay any delivery costs, and then realized I’ve never tried any Topshop make up products. So I picked out the ‘Magic Liner’ and the ‘Freckle Pencil’. Topshop added the Party Proof Mascara to my basket for free, really nice! Have a look at my beauty buys and swatches!
Magic Liner €8,00. I needed a new eyeliner. For me personally, the search for an easy to use eyeliner that doesn’t dry out, is one that’s been going on forever it seems. The Topshop ‘Magic Liner’ has a small felt tip for precision application. It’s a great eyeliner, easy to use, and gives a nice, really black line.
Freckle Pencil €7,00. A freckle pencil? Yes, I can’t remember who and which video, but I saw a Beauty Youtuber using this for a nice sun kissed and natural look. You can probably use a normal brown pencil for this too, but what can I say, guess I’m a sucker for cute packaging. You just make a few dots, and then use a beauty blender or something else you have to blot to make it look natural. Fix it with a fixing spray or finishing powder.
The swatches. Great black liner on the left, the brown freckle pencil on the right seems a little too light here, but you’ll see once applied it blends in perfect.
Party Proof Mascara €13,00. ”Water and smudge resistant mascara. Vitamin E and Olive Wax conditions the lashes, keeping eyes bold, beautiful and clump free all day and night.”
I’ve been using the waterproof Guerlain Cils d’Enfer mascara, which gives my lashes a great curl and some volume. My Asian lashes just stick out straight if I don’t use a waterproof mascara, so I was happy to receive this ‘Party Proof Mascara’. The Guerlain mascara is great, but not very cheap and I find it hard to apply on my lower lashes without smudging it all over my under eye area.
The ‘Party Proof Mascara’ is a great waterproof mascara, that separates the lashes, but doesn’t give my lashes as much of a curl as the Guerlain mascara. It does have a great brush that makes applying mascara to the lower lashes much easier. I still have to work on my mascara skills, sometimes there’s a little too much product on the brush and I end up smudging a little, or just applying to much on the lower lashes.
So I’ve been using these two as a great combo: the waterproof Guerlain ‘Cils d’Enfer Mascara’ on my top lashes for volume, curl and a bit of lenght, and the Topshop ‘Party Proof Mascara’
As you can see, the freckle pencil gives my face a sun kissed and fresh look, you can’t tell the difference between my own freckles or the pencil. Which is great when I use a full coverage foundation and still want to look ‘natural’. The liner has a nice and really black finish, and the mascara is nice, but not amazing. As you can see, it still smudges a little bit, but maybe I just need to brush off some of the product before applying it, still working on my mascara skills…
Have you every tried any Topshop make up products?
